KEY VERIFIED METHODOLOGY

Property Management Verification Standards

Key Verified reviews property management companies using a consistent framework built around business identity, licensing information, professional experience, customer reputation, service transparency, and digital credibility.

Our purpose is to organize relevant information and make company evaluation clearer—not to replace a property owner’s independent due diligence.

OUR APPROACH

A Consistent and Transparent Review Process

Consistent Framework

Companies are reviewed using the same core categories and published standards.

Evidence-Based Review

Findings are based on submitted documentation, public records, company information, and other relevant sources.

Clear Limitations

Verification identifies information reviewed at a specific time and does not guarantee future conduct or performance.

CORE REVIEW CATEGORIES

What Key Verified Reviews

The availability and relevance of specific records may vary by company location, services, and applicable state or local requirements.

01

Business Identity

We review whether the company’s identity and publicly presented business information can be reasonably confirmed.

  • Legal or registered business name
  • Business address and service area
  • Company website and contact information
  • Available business-registration records
  • Consistency of publicly presented company information
02

Licensing and Insurance

We review applicable licensing and insurance information when it is required, relevant, submitted, or publicly available.

  • Applicable real estate or property management licensing
  • License status through available official records
  • Broker or responsible licensee information when applicable
  • Submitted insurance documentation
  • Disclosures where licensing requirements vary by jurisdiction
03

Professional Experience

We examine available information about the company’s operating history and property management experience.

  • Reported years in operation
  • Leadership or responsible-party experience
  • Types of properties managed
  • Geographic service coverage
  • Professional affiliations when claimed
04

Customer Reputation

We evaluate patterns across available reputation sources instead of relying exclusively on one rating or review platform.

  • Reviews across relevant public platforms
  • Consistency and recency of review activity
  • Patterns in owner and tenant feedback
  • Company responses to complaints or criticism
  • Available complaint or disciplinary information
05

Service Transparency

We review whether important services, processes, and company policies are communicated with reasonable clarity.

  • Property management services offered
  • Leasing and tenant-screening procedures
  • Maintenance and emergency processes
  • Owner communication and reporting practices
  • Availability of fee or agreement information when provided
06

Digital Credibility

We assess the consistency, quality, and transparency of the company’s public digital presence.

  • Website ownership and business consistency
  • Accuracy of major directory profiles
  • Consistency of company name, address, and contact details
  • Quality and transparency of published business information
  • Material digital inconsistencies or unsupported claims
INFORMATION SOURCES

How Information Is Collected

Key Verified may use multiple sources to evaluate a company. Not every source is available or applicable in every jurisdiction.

Company-Provided Information

  • Application responses
  • Business documentation
  • Licensing or insurance information
  • Service and operating information
  • Clarifications supplied during review

Independent and Public Information

  • Government and licensing databases
  • Business-registration records
  • Company websites and public profiles
  • Major review and complaint platforms
  • Relevant professional directories and credible publications
Note: The absence of a record does not automatically establish that a company is unqualified. Requirements and public-record availability vary by location.
PROFILE STATUS

Understanding Verification Status

Verified

The company completed the review process and the information examined met the applicable Key Verified standards at the time of review.

Review in Progress

The company or profile is currently being evaluated. This status should not be interpreted as approval or rejection.

Info Required

The review cannot be completed until requested information, documentation, or clarification is provided.

Review Due

The previous verification period has ended or material information requires a new review.

Only profiles displaying the Verified status have completed the Key Verified review process. All other statuses indicate that verification is incomplete, pending, or due for renewal.

ONGOING ACCURACY

Verification Is Time-Specific

01

Initial Review

The company submits information and Key Verified reviews relevant public and submitted materials.

02

Profile Publication

Approved information is organized into a public profile showing the applicable verification status and review date.

03

Updates and Monitoring

Companies may submit material changes, and Key Verified may review credible reports that could affect profile accuracy.

04

Renewal

Verification must be reviewed periodically to confirm that material company information remains current.

Every verified profile should display its verification or review date and, when applicable, its expiration or renewal date.
IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS

What Verification Does Not Mean

A Key Verified status is an informational review—not a guarantee, warranty, government approval, or prediction of future performance.

  • It does not guarantee that every customer will have the same experience.
  • It does not guarantee future conduct, financial performance, or service quality.
  • It does not replace reviewing a management agreement, fees, references, or insurance documentation.
  • It does not constitute legal, financial, real estate, insurance, or investment advice.
  • It does not create an agency, partnership, employment, or fiduciary relationship between Key Verified, listed companies, and website visitors.
  • Payment of an application or review fee does not guarantee verification, favorable treatment, or continued listing.
ACCURACY AND ACCOUNTABILITY

Corrections, Updates and Review Questions

Companies and members of the public may report information that appears incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate.

How can a company request a correction?

The company may contact Key Verified and identify the specific information in question. Supporting documentation may be required before a profile is changed.

Can a verification status be reconsidered?

A company may request reconsideration by providing additional or corrected information relevant to the applicable standard.

Can verification be suspended or removed?

Key Verified may update, suspend, expire, or remove a status when material information changes, required information cannot be confirmed, or credible evidence raises concerns about profile accuracy.

How are public reports handled?

Reports are reviewed for relevance and credibility. A complaint or allegation alone does not automatically determine a company’s status.

Ready to Begin the Verification Process?

Property management companies can submit their information for review. Applying does not guarantee approval, and every applicant is evaluated using the same published framework.
